Project One

It's been a while since I've listened to this album. I just recently got the latest Saber Tiger album (Indignation, and of course, minus Ron) and really thought it kicked some serious tail, plus, when I thought Ron was coming around this weekend, I pulled out all of my RK related items to get psyched up, lol. Every time I listen to this album it blows me away. Even considering the country stuff, Project One is by far the most unexpected thing in the RK catalog. I remember when I first heard it, the music started and I looked at my speakers like a dog does to a car pulling up and thought, "hmm, can Ron pull this off?" I mean, this, musically speaking, is totally unlike anything I had ever heard him do in my life. But when he started singing it really blew me away. Like I've said time and time again, I've been a huge fan of RK's voice since the first moment I heard The Right To Rock, but let's face it, the music of Keel is certainly different from this. Keel is all about rocking and having a good time, and is pretty much a straight forward metal band. Saber Tiger almost gets into the prog metal territory in a lot of ways, and at the very least is much heavier and intense. I dunno, I just felt like giving props where props were due on this. I believe in the Ron's Voice section someone said that this was the pinnacle (or something to that effect) of your metal career, and I really have to agree on that. You really did a magnificent job on this album. And I realize this might sound all gushy and ass-kissing, but it's not intended. Just wanted to speak my mind on this one.

I have to agree with what you have said here Ace. This CD is quite hard core but it is totally awesome from the 1st song to the last. I love everyone of the songs but my favorite one would have to be "Give Me All Your Love". I guess I just love the guitars on that one. They just rock me out of car!!

I look forward to the story, then. I know what ya mean about it taking a lot out of you after you listen to it. It's just such a powerful album.
