Beaten to the punch again - I should have officially announced this release over a week ago. The European and Japanese versions of "Metal Generation:
The Steeler Anthology" came out on September 26th & 28th respectively. I actually just received mine a couple of days ago...
As I've told some of you, I have mixed emotions about this release - some of the material deserves to be heard and some is included for either
historical or marketing purposes. I am especially proud of the new version of "Serenade", one of the best songs of my life, which finally gets the
treatment it has always deserved...better late than never.
Last week I was in Charleston with Aaron Fischer, who really deserves the credit for this collection seeing the light of day. Aaron acted as Executive
Producer, coordinating all aspects of this project from the label negotiations to the studio logistics and more, and having considerable input on the
musical and creative aspects as well. While in Charleston, we mixed yet three more 'lost' Steeler tracks, "American Metal" & "Out To Get You",
which will be included on the US version of the Steeler Anthology which will be released by Cleopatra/Majick Records in January; and "Make Up Your
Mind", which may see inclusion on my personal Ron Keel Anthology CD still in the works for '06.
There you have it. I also want to thank Rik Fox for all his help and cooperation with this release, it's great to be working with him again, and
strange but cool to have another Steeler album in my hands after 22 years. Who'd of thunk it...certainly not I.

Hey I got this CD and I have another one I am about to purchase soon. I must say it is totally awesome and I sure do love the new version of
"Serenade" Ronnie. It sounds great but that is nothing new for you, all your songs sound great!!!

FINALLY, via 2 foreign countries and Idaho I have this thing in my ears.
Untrained, untamed, and unbridled I LOVED those platinum screamer pipes,
Mr. Keel. Still do.
And then the new version of the most beautiful song you've ever written, "Serenade", just blew me away. Don't know what else to say. Had to pull the
deVille off the road. This song alone was worth the wait. (And the trip to Idaho...)
