Interesting things going up here in Chicago. My Dad is from Missouri & a Cardinal fan. Jay being a Cub fan, and the White SOX going to the World
Series.
Curious to know what team they will be cheering for?
St Louis seems all but out - Houston & WHite Sox...I will tell you I am not a Baseball fan, but watching the White Sox destroy the Angels made it
look to easy & would bet on them taking it all.
Imagine if you could, but Chicago may be the next big basebal mecca - Go Bears!!!!

Many Cubs fans would rather see the Sox lose than win. I am not one of them. My usual state of mind is, if the Sox do well, great, if they don't, oh
well.....but it's the first time ANY Chicago baseball team has been in the World Series in 46 years so I'm pulling for them. Since I've been laid up
after surgery I've had nothing but time to watch every sporting event known to man, baseball playoffs included, and will continue to do so while
cheering on my Chicago team......and since it's the ONLY Chicago team that remotely resembles a good team, it's all I've got.

I expected a better fight out of St. Louis at home, but Oswalt was filthy.
This will be an excellent series. Both teams spent considerably less than $100 mil in payroll, both are similiarly put together so we should see alot
of good fundamental small ball, once again a wild-card team ends up in the World Series, and best of all--neither team is named the Yankees.
I'm happy for Biggio and Bagwell--they both deserved to get in before they retired, although Bagwell will only get to pinch-hit. This also probably
means Clemens will retire next year.
However, the Sox definitely have the edge with the bats and on defense while the pitching matchups are basically a wash--Astros big three slightly
outrank the Sox pretty big four but the Sox have the slightly better overall pen, although Jenks must continue to come up big in the closer slot to
match up with Lidge. My prediction--Sox in six games.

Houston, the city, is actually having a "Don't wear Socks" campaign.

This one was BIG. I figured the Stros were done tonight after Paulie's Slam, but that bastard Vizcaino has been a pinch-hitting nightmare to many
pitching staffs. Then Lidge gives up a second straight walk-off dinger.....this time to a banjo hitter like Posednik, so not only are the Stros in a
2-0 hole and they're minus Clemens, but now their closer is going to start having confidence issues because this time it wasn't a hanging slider that
got hit....it was his heater. If the Sox can somehow get to Oswalt on Tuesday, this series will be over in four games. Amazing.

Cubs have a lot of work to do, and a very unappealing free agent crop to work with this year. But, the Sox did show that if you can get the pitching,
your everyday lineup doesn't have to be all that....as long as it doesn't strike out.
