American Idol...

Katie - 2-22-2006 at 10:24 PM

I happened to be flipping through the channels last night and American Idol popped up on my tv... so I watched it for a song or two and one of the chicks on the show sang "Because the Night"... it was the most HORRIFIC rendition I have ever heard. I know your suppose to make the song "your own" ... but come on, she was horrible!

(sorry Idol fans... but it had to be said)

If they ever make a show called "American Idle", I will be first in line to audition.

Geno called me about the 'Because The Night' butchering, but unfortunately I got the message late and missed it. I once sat through 15 minutes of this show and swore that is all I would ever force myself to endure.

Pinktiger27 - 2-23-2006 at 03:23 AM

I heard the end of the song and she did suck to bad I really like that song too.

Tatman - 2-23-2006 at 04:46 AM

I'm not pretty enough for that show!
I'm waiting on American Beer Drinking/Guitar Playing & Singing Big Guy Idol!
(How about American Bad Influence!?.... Like the name though!)
Still not pretty enough but Closer.....Much Closer! I think I'm OK on those points!

I, too, swore I'd never watch it.....and I basically didn't.....til this year when I've seen quite a bit of it. Unfortunately, it gets a little boring once they weed out the people who suck. They're the most entertaining ones. And I'm still waiting for a real rocker to show up---lame asses like Bo Bice don't qualify where I come from. Imagine if some kid came out and sang like David Coverdale---now THAT would be some shit.

Charlie, have you SEEN the guys this year?? Pretty is most definitely NOT a requirement! Next year, we'd better see you on TV!

Tatman - 2-23-2006 at 07:24 AM

Start a write in campaign now!!
I'll go on American Idol if they:
1) Change sponsers from Coke to Jack Daniels, Budweiser and Slim Fast!!!
2) Let me wear my Confederate flag doo rag.
3) Let me drink beer on the show
Thank you for your support!
YOUR NEXT American Alcoholic

ldyboxr - 2-23-2006 at 12:59 PM

On the note of bad singers... I would WIN THE SHOW FOR THE WORST SINGER IN HISTORY! LOL ... SEE YA ALL SOON! :o

mr.troy - 2-23-2006 at 03:55 PM

I think I would take that honor Chas...:P

skynyrdmh - 2-23-2006 at 04:36 PM

I got yall beat!! I got 2 buckets and a 55 gallon drum and still cant carry a tune!!!

AngelRichards - 2-24-2006 at 03:10 AM

Give me a bottle of gin and I can sing better than ANYONE:P

I gotta say though, I do like watching Simon tear people up...

TVOR - 4-17-2006 at 10:26 AM

This is the only thing I watch on TV - I watch movies now more than anything else.

Chris is rocking on the show - he should win unless the Hottie Katharine Mcfever...or Kelly Pickled - It is funny to watch these kids try to be rock stars though. Elliott is pretty good, but won't win the girl voters over with Ace & Chris still around...and Bucky was last weeks loser.

TVOR - 4-21-2006 at 11:22 AM

SO they finally kicked Ace off...I just hated to see his brother every effing time - 'bout time...No we can get into some serious tv programming...

BTW - Watching Back to the Future I, II, and III on DVD. I remember whn these movies were cooler - for some reason they seem pretty lame - especially II - very poor acting...the best scenes were the dubbs from the first one. LOL

ldyboxr - 4-22-2006 at 01:09 AM

Hey Kate... I should try out now playing the bells like did at MASS...LOL

Tatman - 4-22-2006 at 12:42 PM

You sure ring my bells !!...... That's BELLS...with an E!!
Miss the hell out of you Darlin! See ya

mr.troy - 4-23-2006 at 02:09 AM

Yeah Charlie T... Yer quite a "Ding A Ling" alright...:P

ldyboxr - 4-23-2006 at 12:54 PM

Miss you to Charlie T> My favorite husband! Troy and kim can't wait to see you!

TVOR - 5-13-2006 at 11:53 AM

And then there were three...I knew Chris was gone...Kat took all the guy votes,,,duh.

Elliott or Taylor versus Kat in the finals...If Kat is in the finals she will win...If Elliott and Taylor then Elliott will win.

If Paula stops by my house, I won't be watching....

mr.troy - 5-13-2006 at 10:31 PM

And If Elliot And Taylor stop by Charlie T's house...

Tatman - 5-13-2006 at 11:05 PM

I'd have to ask them who the hell they were because I don't watch the show! But give me a few days and I'll think up something witty .....Troy Neff!
Seriously... If those "kids" want a music career they need to get out and pay some dues! Pisses me off that 99% of them can't perform more than a few tunes! When you drive 75 miles to some hole in the wall dive , do 5 hours of music in front of a small crowd that don't know you and don't want to know you, and walk out of there with only $50 ($5 after you pay your tab) in your pocket and a new bunch of fans AND friends...That's when you'll be an entertainer. Idols are what happens to great entertainers when the die, Elvis, SRV, James Dean, etc. American Idol my ass! American Flash in the Pan! What ever happened to the other "Idols"? Probably making more than I am but at least I'm still Charlie! I'm glad to get that off my chest! See what you started Troy! All was well with the world but oh no you had to poke a barb at Charlie!!!

Tatman - 5-13-2006 at 11:09 PM

THE PRECEDING WAS A RANT BY CHARLIE TATMAN. THE VIEWS AND OPINIONS EXPRESSED DURING THE RANT WERE THOSE OF CHARLIE'S AND IN NO WAY REFLECT THE VIEWS OF OTHER PEOPLE RELATED TO OR PERFORMING WITH CHARL:cool:IE.

mr.troy - 5-14-2006 at 12:01 AM

It's what I do best bro...ain't that right Depp? :P
Seriously Charlie...maybe you could tour with Clay Aiken?
Miss ya!

Tatman - 5-14-2006 at 07:37 AM

Nahhhh...too manly for me to be seen with! Besides when are you going to give him up!
Does he remind anyone else of Richard Simmons? I mean Troy not Clay!
Miss you too bro!

mr.troy - 5-14-2006 at 05:52 PM

You got me one this one, bra!
I really do enjoy "Sweatin' To The Oldies" to that cd you put out in the late 80's. Yes people, in the late 80's, Charlie T did a "Judas Priest" type thing. He replaced the lead singer in a "well known" pop band from England. I'm not allowed to tell you which one, but his stage name was "Karma Chameleon" and he had dreadlocks, wore make up and a kimono of "Red, Gold and Green"
He toured non-stop for years..."Tumbling 4 Ya"...everywhere he went.

Hey bra, by now you're probably mad enough to punch me b/c I told your secret. But, you must look deep inside of yourself and ask...
"Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?":(

Later...
:D

Tatman - 5-14-2006 at 08:16 PM

Damn you Troy!! The phone will be ringing off the hook now! Well you told mine now your secret past is gonna come out..... Troy was the lead "Fluffer" in the [Censored] industry for three years. He was known to associate a lot with John Holmes and Peter North. Some said he Blew his big chance though when was arrested and went to court for his [Censored] job... it was settled in SMALL claims court and he was once accused of rape but the charges were dropped to assault with a dead weapon.
See ya I gotta go get the dreadlocks on for another show!

mr.troy - 5-14-2006 at 10:04 PM

Charlie,
You are a very cruel person. I really thought we were pals when we'd throw back beers and tell life stories. I was wrong...very wrong. When I started picking on you, I didn't realize that I had struck such a nerve, that you would GO there...but you did!
You always have to get the last word before you Go...
Now my friend the time has come. You see, our beloved Charlie was at one time ... THE THIRD MEMBER IN WHAM! Although he wasn't the "biggest" member...he was the inspiration for three of their biggest hits.
He had told George Michael that he was leaving WHAM for the other band stated in an earlier post and would not be leaving with George and the other guy to tour with them and was going to bed. After about an hour, George had cooled down enough so he went to Charlie's room and as not to startle him... leaned over and in a "Careless Whisper" told him "You will always be a "Father Figure" to me. I just wanted to tell you that before I Go." Just as George was getting ready to close the door, Charlie raised his head and said "I'm very tired and want to sleep a little longer but please Georgie...."WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO!"

The rest is music history...

See ya later... WHAMMY BAR

Tatman - 5-15-2006 at 02:14 AM

Troy you heartless guy ! You know how much that story makes me cry!
You win.... I've been beaten by the best! I'll talk to you later.
Come to Columbus some night and we'll drink one to the day!
See ya Bro!

mr.troy - 5-21-2006 at 02:58 AM

NEWSFLASH:
Hey Charlie T,
I just found out that we have another closet celebrity in our fold.
Wicks slipped up last night and told us that he used to be a close confidant to Simon Lebon of DURAN DURAN and if you look real close in the "Hungry Like The Wolf" video...he's one of the natives in the jungle jumping around in just a loincloth...

I thought you'd enjoy the info...

skynyrdmh - 5-21-2006 at 01:45 PM

I Guess I just missed the whole loincloth thing...Thank Heavens!!

wicks - 5-23-2006 at 01:46 AM

I will have to dig out that box of Wicks lost treasures. I believe I still have at least 3 of the loinclothes that I wore and never washed!! I will gladly sign a pair for each of you 3 "GUYS"(Troy,Charlie Tatman, and Mark Hypes) since you are such GREAT friends and I will get them into the mail for you as soon as possible!!! I may also still have some of the make up and eyeliner that the band and us extras used too!! Thanks for Your Interest And Keeping The 1980's Alive!!!!!

mr.troy - 5-23-2006 at 02:29 AM

Chris,
Just be thankful that I didn't tell everyone that you were the inspiration for the song "Rio"
You told me the original version went "His name is Wicks and he dances in the sand."

skynyrdmh - 5-23-2006 at 03:56 AM

dances in the sand?? I thought it was peeing in the sand!!

mr.troy - 5-23-2006 at 04:45 AM

TVOR - 5-25-2006 at 10:07 AM

Kat goes down....if only.

Soul PATROL wins it all - Taylor Hicks. They didn't give the % so I am thinking it wasn't close.

They put on a good show last night - The band LIVE even played. Very

:::daydream sequence:::
Carrie Underwood looking F;)I;)N;)E fine fine fine.

and for all the Clay Aiken fans - yup he was there too.

Prince ( What's my name?), Dionne (what's my fortune?) Warwick, Toni Braxton, and Meat (this red bandana is stuck to my hand) Loaf were also there.

Heather Locklear in the crowd - with that Ben Stiller guy...:P:mad:

PRICELESS - HAHA.

I liked it when I ran up to Kat and I put my hands on her...

it was bad they had to cut for a commerical break, but you get the idea.
