Remembering Ron Keel at the Kiss Expo Charlotte, NC 2002

This is Sherri She Ace Hopkins, your Kiss Army Sergeant and Ace Frehley Solo Tribute Artist. I went to the Charlotte, NC Kiss Expo in 2002, Ron Keel performed with a flat top guitar. I really enjoyed hearing him sing live. He met with the Kiss Army Fans. I met him and enjoyed talking with him. I had my picture taken with him, and he signed my Washburn Flying V guitar that I still Rock and Roll with today. I just wanted to say that you rock. Here is a picture of the She Ace and in the upper Left Corner you will see the picture of She Ace & Ron Keel framed in red and gold. What a cool event? Does anyone Know if there will be any more Kiss Expos in Charlotte, NC?

Hey, I was at that Expo! As for your question: it's highly unlikely. After Gene had the last Charlotte Expo raided by a lawyer and federal agents, the guy that ran it (Phil, who did the Atlanta and a couple others I believe) won't be doing any more. I think it's a shame because it was a great way to meet a lot of KISS fans, not to mention the fact that I got to meet Ron Keel several times, too. That whole situation could've been handled SO much better, IMO. But, the last time I started talking about that situation on another message board the topic was removed and I got banned, hehe. So I'm not going to take too many chances on talking about it much. ;)

Maybe some one else could sponsor it and bring them back to the areas that he lost. This could be a project that Gene would have to approve of course. I don't really need to know the details. I just wish we could have more Expos in and near my home. Charlotte, NC was a great time for me. I really want to go to them again. I would enjoy being a part of it.

I went to all of the Charlotte ones and several of the Atlanta ones. It would be cool if someone else picked it up, but I think most people are a bit scared to do it after the last time. It's truly sad too, as I enjoyed all of them (except the last one after the raid), met some awesome people, saw some cool acts, and bought some cool stuff. Maybe someday, ya never know... As for Gene granting permission- well, apparently he had given his permission before, yet still had it raided, so there ya go.

 They have lots of Kiss Expos everywhere. Anything can happen, just like you say. I will keep hoping maybe one day it might fall in my hands and Gene just might help me. Everyone can Dream. So back to Ron Keel and this site. Ron Keel is quite a great performer. He just sent me a email the other day saying that he is on the Road and will be at the 2006 NY KISS Expo this year. I want to go. I can't get off work. Maybe next time. Ron Keel has been to so many Kiss Expos. He puts his heart and soul into these Kiss Army Expos. It is great to spend time with him. I have some of the real old videos when Keel released "Somebody's Waiting" and "Rock and Roll Outlaws. Those were good. I really like his style. Ron Keel hope to see you soon somewhere in and near VA or NC or Maybe the Kiss Army March on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 8-05-06. Until then sing one for Me.
