I was just talking to my mom, and they had talked about comming to see your show, but wanted to know how much tickets were for either the Thursday or Friday show? I told them I'd ask you.

There is no cover charge for the shows at Sam's Town - hope to see your family there.

They'll probably be there around 5 on Thursday, with my sisters baby shower on Saturday the rest of the weekend is pretty much booked.

Hope everything goes good, and you have a blast!! I wish I could have gone. Instead I ended up going to see a local show here at Club Vegas in Utah. That is where you played when you were here.


Was anyone from here able to go see the Sam's Town shows???

My family went on Thursday (I'm in Canada so was unable to go) but they had a blast! They were amazed how great of a show Ron puts on, and how nice he is! They were suposed to go last night, but were too tired after a long day of work, so they are going tonight. I'll post some pictures from the show as soon as I get them.

That is one thing that I noticed too when I met Ron here in Salt Lake back in June, was that how nice he was. He really seemed interested in what his fans had to say. He hung out in the crowd with the fans, and didn't spend all his time back stage. I don't know if it was just that particular venue, but he hung out in the crowd with the rest of us. He talked with everyone that came up to him. He even came and talked to me on his own, which blew my mind away!! He had remembered that we were talking about something when someone else came up and interrupted us, so he came back by to finish the conversation. I don't think I have ever had that happen to me before. Most of the time if you get interrupted, that is where the conversation ends, unless you yourself go to restart it.
He took pictures with everyone that asked, and signed numerous autographs. He was very friendly. I left the show feeling like I had known him for years, instead of just meeting him for the first time that night.
I had bought his Alone At Last cd that night, and have since then listened to it way too much. I don't think I ever realized how talented he was.
I really wanted to go see the Vegas show, since Vegas is so close to Salt Lake. The timing was good, just the money situation wasn't. So I am thinking that I need to start saving up, and maybe I might be able to see one of those shows in Laughlin later this year. Since another SLC show might be out of the options, because it looks like he is pretty well booked already. I am just afraid that if I see him in a bigger city like Vegas, that he won't be able to spend time with his fans like he was able to when he was here in Salt Lake.

What you described is no fluke. Ron does not hide backstage at any show he does....he's always out with his people. He always describes it as one of the most rewarding parts of the job. Without butts in the seats, a performer is wasting his time, so any performer needs to spend as much time with the crowd as they possibly can letting them know how much they are appreciated.

Any shows Ron does in Vegas my family will be there to cheer him on, he put on a heck of a show, and talked to them (and gave my mom a hug.. ). (Now if he'd come to Canada ...... Just kidding, one can hope, though...)

Hey, I didn't know that he was like that pretty much all the time.
Although I did have a couple people that I know personally that have met Ron before, well they said that he is one of the nicest people in the music business that you will ever meet.
Then when I had the chance to talk to him myself, then I realized that they were correct.
It is nice that there are real people out there that realize that if it wasn't for the fans, they wouldn't be where they are today.
I have heard other performers say that numerous times, but when it comes down to it, actions speak louder then words.

It's just like that song that Extreme does, More then words....

It's just like that, actions... speak louder then words!

Now I know that it is not physically possible 100% of the time to always talk to your fans. And I understand that. But if your saying that your going to sign autographs with your fans, then you had better mean your fans, and not just the club owners and the promoters. Heck I went to a show just recently where they said that, and every time I tried to get near to anyone from the band they would walk away from me, or just disappear for quite a while. So when I would see one of the band guys again, I started to speak up. Then I still kept getting the cold shoulder, so I finally yelled out, hey, it was a great show.. BYE!! Then the singer finally came over and acknowledged me. He told me thank you, and kissed me on the cheek. I thought to myself, yeah, whatever!! And I left! I never did get their autographs, that's alright though. Because actually meeting them, meant nothing to me. I thought I might like their music, but that is the only thing that I like about them.

Like a big arena, I am sure it is more difficult to spend time with your fans, because of the amount of fans that are there. And I don't expect anything like that at a arena show. That is why I prefer club shows, they are more personable. I went to see this performer one time (like in 1994) that used to be very big. And he was doing a solo show at club. There weren't very many people there because there wasn't much notice. After the show he said he would sign autographs. Well he did, but he did it while he was on the tour bus. He had someone from the front of the bus, take what you wanted signed, give it to someone else on the bus, and they would give it to him. And you could only have one thing signed too. There weren't very many people in the line for signatures either. I didn't understand why he was hiding out. Pretty much every one had already left because it was very cold outside. I thought, that was very rude!! You get our hopes up by saying that you are signing autographs, then you crush them by playing a no win game of hide and go seek. Ok, I'm done. Sorry for the long post.


I just wish that I would have got hooked on all of Ron's music a long time ago, instead of just the "Cherry Lane" song. Because now I have so much catching up to do!
