Hello, welcome to the Forums...
Your question is, of course, hypothetical. A reunion of the classic Steeler-album lineup is impossible; drummer Mark Edwards (aka Mark Scott, Mark
Schwartz) suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident a dozen years ago and is physically unable to play - he's doing well though, he went
through law school and is now an attorney. And though Yngwie and I have buried our infamous hatchet, sharing the stage together is still an unlikely
possibility.
Between 1981-1984 there were a lot of guys in and out of the revolving door of the Steeler Mansion in Los Angeles....realistically any of them could
be in a legitimate reunion. But there were only 3 drummers ever in the band: Robert Eva, Mark, & Bobby Marks - and none of them are still playing.
So we'd have to get a fill-in drummer.
I know my old friend Rik Fox would be right there by my side with bass in hand.
And I do know a young Swedish guitarist who would be a perfect choice to fill Yngwie's shoes in the lineup, he's someone that I've worked with in the
past five years and we still have a good friendship...
The largest obstacle to overcome would be vocally - my voice has changed so much since then (see the extensive "Ronnie's Voice" thread elsewhere in
this Forum). While those stratospheric high screams are no longer in my vocabulary, I wouldn't for a mnute trade my 2005 voice for my 1983 voice...
But I have learned to NEVER say never. And with a new Steeler Anthology CD to be released in October, there is renewed interest in that band and I
must admit the thought has crossed my mind.
