2007
Happy New Year – I sincerely hope all my People had a wonderful holiday season.
After 150 shows last year, with gigs in 10 states with my various projects, I took a rare break from performing and business to focus on family and
loved ones. I apologize up front for getting behind on my posts, e-mails, returning phone calls, answering Myspace messages, and for not sending out
Christmas cards this year…
http://RonKeel.com has been reloaded with my 2006 Year In Review and some of my plans for 2007, I hope you’ll check out the News, Shows and other
updates.
There are already 48 shows on the books between now and mid-April and many more in the pipeline. I’m excited that many of these shows will see me
fronting a band again – whether it’s the Ron Keel Band or KEEL/SHORTINO, it’s gonna feel good to raise the energy level and the volume and do more
full-band shows this year. The Ron Keel Band will kick off dates in Ohio (where else!) on March 28th in Cincinnati, and other gigs will be confirmed
in the next few days – including my return to Big George’s in Plain City, Ohio. I love doing my solo acoustic shows, but having a kick ass band behind
me will enable me to deliver music from KEEL, IronHorse, Fair Game, Saber Tiger etc. with all the instrumentation and energy of the original
recordings.
My friendship and musical partnership with all-world vocalist Paul Shortino has developed into something really special, and in addition to doing more
shows as an acoustic duo in January and March, we’ll be putting a band behind us for four big shows in Las Vegas during NASCAR Week March 8-11. These
shows will of course include music from KEEL, IronHorse, Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot, our various other projects, and our favorite classics.
And my role in “Country Music USA” continues this year with two-week runs in Laughlin Nevada at various times throughout the year. There are also some
other big shows in the works for “Steers & Stripes”, headlining some major tribute concert packages.
CD releases planned in 2007 include “Alone At Last II”. The last CD consisted of all songs I had written or co-written – this next one will feature
other material from throughout my career that have become mine even though I wasn’t the songwriter; tracks like “Tears Of Fire”, “Because The Night”,
and much more. I’m also participating in a couple of compilation discs: “Rock On Country” is a collection of country songs recorded by rock artists,
so that’s a natural for me (I will have 2 songs on this release); and I will be singing “Lick It Up” for a KISS Tribute CD in the works from
Versailles Records. I’m confident that “Lay Down The Law”, the debut KEEL album, will finally see the light of day from Shrapnel Records in all its
digitally remastered glory – this enhanced disc will also include vintage concert videos of KEEL laying down “Thunder & Lightning” and “Hot On
Your Heels”, and will be packaged in the popular new Digipak format with rare photos and liner notes by yours truly. I plan to release another country
CD this year also – “Ronnie Lee Keel: Long Time Coming”, which will include previously unreleased material, songs from my TV & Film catalog that
have not been available on CD, and the killer new title track “Long Time Coming”. Paul Shortino and I would like to write, record, and release a
KEEL/SHORTINO album. And while no concrete release plans exist for the KEEL ‘Best Of’ collection and the long awaited Ron Keel Anthology, I’m going to
work hard to see that these two dreams become reality.
We are set to begin editing on two exciting DVD projects – “KEEL: Kollection” which will include all the KEEL videos: “The Right To Rock”, “Because
The Night”, “Tears Of Fire”, “Somebody’s Waiting”, “Rock N Roll Outlaw”, “Dreams Are Not Enough”, and the bonus video “United Nations” – and “Ron
Keel: 20/20” – a collection of all the videos from throughout my career including the aforementioned KEEL clips.
My TV & Film credits have already gotten a big boost this year – a new Ronnie Lee Keel song, “All My Dreams Are Coming True (For Someone Else)”
will appear in “The Messengers”, a major new movie from Sony Pictures to be released in theaters February 2nd. You can view the trailer at the film’s
official web site http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/themessengers/index.html
I’ll be talking about all this stuff and more in my first major interview of 2007 on Friday January 12, live on http://powerhouserock.net at Midnight Eastern Time.
In the coming weeks and months, I’ll address all these activities individually here on the Forum. I hope that you’ll continue to hang here with me –
I’m very proud that the Internet has allowed us to bring friends, fans, and family together through the good times and the bad, and I really
appreciate EVERYONE who is a part of my life and my career. Stay safe, stand proud, have fun…and thanks for keeping my dreams alive.

this is going to be a good year for all of us! looking forward to the new material and performances. i'm not a big fan of scary movies, but i'll go
see this just to support you...you just made my daughter's day (she's a huge fan of the genre--loves to try and scare me) !
live your life as if every day is your last, and never be afraid to say \"i love you\"

I'm here, B.F.G.! I know, I know, I have to update the show details here for those of you who NEVER visit http://ronkeel.com -
Here is the Ohio/Michigan March run:
THE RON KEEL BAND
March 28: Cincinnati, Ohio - Rhino's LIVE
http://rhinosbg.com/
March 29: Cincinnati, Ohio - Rhino's EAST
http://rhinosbg.com/
March 30: Detroit, Michigan - The Ritz
http://theritzrocks.tripod.com/
March 31: Plain City, Ohio - Big George's
http://biggeorgesbar.com
My band will consist of:
Ryche Green - drums
Sam McCaslin - keyboards/harmonica
Michael "MT" Thomas - lead guitar
Dave Weeks - bass
Ryche, Michael, and Dave have a 3-piece project called "Shine Violet" and they will be opening these shows. Friday in Detroit is 'Retrospect Records
Night', and that gig will also feature other acts on the label ( http://retrospectrecords.com).
Sound and production for the Big George's show will of course be provided by LoneWolf Sound (I wouldn't have it any other way).
The songlist for these gigs is quite lengthy - 10 KEEL songs, 10 IronHorse songs, some Saber Tiger, some Ronnie Lee Keel...an acoustic segment, and a
surprise or two. Me and the boys will be ready.
