I believe there is a way to get Internet service through a satellite provider in some places. However, when the weather goes to shit, so does your internet service.

I use Verizon broadband internet access - very happy with this. I can get on-line with my laptop pretty much anywhere you have cell phone reception, but you would need to make sure you are in a coverage area. $60 a month. More details:

Thanks guys!! I was trying for satellite internet but the only provider in our area is not installing in our exact location. I'm checking out Verizon and Cingular access today. You'd think in this day and age that you would be able to get whatever type of service you want but I guess that is the sacrifice I have to make for wanting cows in my backyard!! Hell, we cant even get digital cable there!!! Its all analog!!!!!!!!!

Sprint also provides a wireless internet service. My brother uses it and he, as well, is out in BFE.

Still looking for a volume knob with a 12 on it!!

Well, it looks like I'm gonna go with Cingular since I already have 4 cell phones with them and that would give me the best deal. Thanks to all who helped me out on this one. Now, off to check out laptops. Laptops people, not lapdances!!!!! LMAO!!!

Did the Cingular air card and just returned it today...it sucked!! Slower than dial-up! It was a location problem. Stopped at the Verizon store and checked out what they had and with my employee discount, got the pc card for free and I'm getting the service (without having other phone with them) for the same as if I had cell phone service with them. Now I'm zipping along the net like I was connected with Roadrunner. I also got an adapter so this pc card is connected into my desktop pc and not a laptop.
